Brush-tailed rock wallaby monitoring: Flinders-goolman conservation estate

A baseline monitoring program was designed and implemented within the known range of the threatened Brush-tailed rock wallaby in Ipswich Local Government Area, Queensland on behalf of Ipswich City Council. This included the use of a fit-for-purpose survey technique developed by Biolink in a separate project for the Saving our Species (SoS) program (the survey approach has been subsequently published in leading journal, Australian Mammalogy). Survey results were contextualised by an analysis of historical records to obtain an understanding of current population status and trends. Project outputs included brush-tailed rock wallaby occupancy and activity levels, a long-term monitoring program, habitat mapping and habitat associations, among other results.
