* Post-fire koala surveys

Funded by the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (Australia), we have recently completed an assessment of the impact on koalas of the 2019 / 20 fire season. We are able to do this because earlier project work provided us with a large array of contemporaneous (i.e. current koala generation) pre-fire survey data. To undertake this work we quantified changes that have occurred by reassessing koala presence / absence at more than 120 field sites from 6 separate fire grounds distributed between Forster on the NSW mid-north coast and Wardell - Casino on the far north coast. Our report describing the project has been prepared in the form of a scientific publication and has now been submitted for publication in the peer-reviewed literature.
